Dogs of Bluegrass on the Grass

In a world filled with division, the Bluegrass on the Grass festival offered a refreshingly friendly atmosphere where folks from all walks of life and their pups could enjoy American-rooted music in peace and patriotic harmony. Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Corgis, Poodle mixes, Goldies, and Dachshunds alike were serenaded by the sounds of their people.

You can thank Davis Tracy for transforming his bluegrass barn parties into the beloved Bluegrass on the Grass festival we know today. This non-profit event thrives on the support of volunteers, a dedicated planning committee, local businesses, private donors, and record companies. Not only is this top-notch music free, but the festival also honored Isabela March, the Fletcher Bright Memorial Award Winner scholarship. A recent graduate from Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Wilmington, DE, she played beautifully on stage with the New Dismembered Tennesseans.

The 27th annual Bluegrass on the Grass was held on the lush green lawn of Dickinson College Campus in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Esteemed musicians attracted over 4,000 listeners, all comfortably settled in with their lawn chairs or swaying to the beat.

Beside many of these lawn chairs and coolers, you could find panting pooches of all sizes! Their owners were delighted to have someone capture their K9’s smile.
